Where are your roots grounded?

This week's first reading was from Jeremiah 17:5-8

"Thus says the Lord: Cursed is the one who trusts in human beings, who seeks his strength in flesh, whose heart turns away from the Lord.  He is like a barren bush in the desert that enjoys no change of season, buts stands in a lava waste, a salt and empty earth.
Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose hope is in the Lord. He is like a tree planted beside the waters that stretches out its roots to the stream: it fears not the heat when it comes; its leaves stay green; in the year of the drought it shows no distress, but still bears fruit."

This two analogies of the cursed and the blessed remind me of two personalities on twitter in modern day times.   One who puts their trust in the Government and one who has Faith in God.
I will you assign the party politics based on your own observations!

I made a graphic to showcase what being rooted in the right things can grow.
With the tree roots as the Trinity and Love as the trunk,  everything the Godless fight for can grow:  equality, justice and hope.

Without roots and love,  the Godless is just a bush.
A bush can be barren and has no way to sustain itself in times of troubled weather.

The tree being rooted can reach the stream and living waters to survive drought and winter.
Thus are the children of God rooted in believes that are based in love and grow what is fruitful and productive.
