Cherish the Silence. Let me Love as Christ Loves.

Today we had the NBC "Infront" at work. The network presents their new fall shows and lets us know sponsorship opportunities for clients in the upcoming year.
There was a slide in the deck about NBC In Taxi, NBC Inflight, NBC Fuel, NBC Grocery. Basically all the places where NBC content is available ? for the viewer to see and what sponsorships opps are available there.
So the two that struck out to me are NBC Taxi and NBC Fuel.
Aside from Cabs to and from the airports, Does anyone take a long enough cab ride that they need to be entertained ? Who needs to be entertained for 2-3 minutes while they get gas ?
Are our attention spans that short ?

I was talking to Fr Ken about this last week at TOT and tonight TOT in Fr Eddie's 'The Art of Prayer' discussion I even thought about this. What happened to silence ? What happened to still ?

Now a days the only time a child has to sit still is in time out. Are kids equating stillness with punishment ?

Some of the best prayers and conversations with God happen in the silence and the stillness.

Are we so addicted to blackberries, TV and video games that we can not think to ourselves or
sit in quiet ?

Lord, help me to cherish the silence and go back to basics. For the its the basics where we find our true selves.

Lord, Let me Love as Christ Loves.
