Remembering Boston 4/15/13

I was working at the office today and one of my clients at an abc station told me to turn on the TV as they broke into daytime programming for a bomb at the Boston Marathon.

Awful. Tragic. Sick. Are probably some of the words we are all thinking right now.

As these mass incidents of death keep occuring and we all keep having the same thoughts on who would do this, what type of people, and why. I keep going back to one bible verse.

I do believe in scripture as a window to God and Faith, and peace.  It just seems like when people were closer to God, things were more peaceful  and I  cannot help but find a correlation to violence and people pulling away from God more.

The verse I keep going back to is Matthew 18:5 and Matthew 18: 10-14

Pro Life is a big issue right now.   I am Pro Life but not just for babies. Respect Life is for babies and beyond. All Life. But because I feel like babies are being forgotten right now, this verse speaks to me because:

Matthew 18:5
"And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me"

Matthew 18:10-14
"See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you their angels in heaven always look upon  the face of my heavenly Father. What is your opinion? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine in the hills and go in search of the stray ? And if he finds it, Amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not stray. In just the same way, it is not the will of your heavenly Father that one of these  little ones be lost."

If society does not respect babies and children, how can we expect them to respect adults and each other.
How we treat the littlest members is usually how we treat God, and others.
Being Pro Life is not just about birth and babies in the womb, it is about Respecting Life. Period.

Here is what some of the other Gospels say: 

Luke 9: 48
"Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. For the one who is least amongst all of  you is the one who is the greatest."


Mark 10: 37
"Whoever receives one child such as this in my name, receives me; and whoever receives me, receives not me but the One who sent me"

This is just something I keep thinking about whenever these tragedies occurs.
Are those involved in the destruction respecters of Life ?
Why or why not ?
