All last season Dodd said some pretty stupid things and the message board post pointing this out were hysterical. I think cbs keeps him on staff because people want to see what bonehead thing he will say next. Here are some excerpts from an article today.
He is writing about the precursors to college football season and what is to come.

Appalachian State kicked it all off last year with that shocking win at Michigan. History suggests the wildest season in the game's history won't repeat. The odds are against any team with two losses emerging to win a national championship. LSU got the benefit of the doubt last season largely because it played in the SEC. There will be enough one-loss and/or undefeated teams from which to chose in 2008.
Right?

JK: Dodd constantly rips on LSU for getting to the game with 2 losses. Truth is the way the season shoke out last year, OSU was the only 1 loss team so they went to the NC Game by default. Remember, when the OSU season ended the week before Thanksgiving, they were ranked #5. Every other team of equal merit that year would have been in the same boat unless they chose Hawaii or Boise State to be in the NC Game and thats just not fair .... strength of schedule anyone ? With OSU getting in their with their one loss, LSU played the best schedule of all the 2 loss teams to choose from.

Buckeyes vs. Trojans on Sept. 13 is largely considered the game of the year. The game of September, maybe (see below).
Both teams can afford a loss in this game at the Coliseum because the loser can run the table in its conference and still get to the BCS championship game.

JK: The key phrase here is 'the loser can run the table in its conference and still get to the BCS championship game' with one loss ..... Can you hear C & C Music Factory, Hmmmmm.
Now, is that competitive ? Is that more worthy of a NC title over someone who plays 4 ranked teams a season and beats them all ?
