Hurricanes, V-P's, and Football oh my !

Three year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, and another storms a brewing for the Gulf. I remember August always being a big month for Hurricanes. Although when I was little we did not evacuate the city, we just rode out the storm at my grandmothers house in a flood plain. At least there was a boat there. Sometimes. We had a pull string elevator ?!
The city and the Governor have put better plans in place for this storm today so they did learn something from before and will implement change, so thats always good.
I am not gonna lie, I kinda like hurricane evacuations, its like a mini vacation.
I need to move back south.

McCain announced his VP Today .... Remember, I do not like either party candidate.
I have already read a quote from Obama saying she has no experience. Hello Pot, this is kettle, you're black. (Literally and figuratively, Ha) She was the leader of a city and a state as mayor and governor, it is not the most populated but she was a leader and got the job done.
As opposed to a freshman senator whose attendance record is slim who voted to raise taxes and sometimes was not there to vote.
Again, I dont like either party I just don't think Obama can criticize her without seeming like an idiot.

LSU announced today they are changing their football game opener tomorrow to be at 10am instead of 4pm due to Gustav evacuation plans. Crap, that means it is not on ESPN anymore for me to watch ... lsuchicageaux said Gamekeeper's is still opening early for us but I don't know why if ESPN is not carrying it ... I wonder how we will get the game ? I have seen a game on an internet feed at a bar, its not fun. I just dont understand why everyone cannot evacuate Sunday and leave the game in place, the storm is not expected to arrive on Tuesday and it is going slow. It just gets stronger in the Gulf, not faster. Its one night less in a hotel or shelter.
