Proverbs

I love the book of Proverbs in the bible.
So much so, there is a wine stain in my bible on my favorite page from repeated readings while enjoying wine and scripture.  I am not sure what to think about that.

The book of  Proverbs is just keeping it real.The short verses are like Chinese fortune cookie messages from God and scripture.

Here are a few:

Proverbs 31: 6-7
Give strong drink to one who is perishing, and wine to the sorely depressed;
When they drink, they will forget their misery, and think no  more of their burdens.

Proverbs 31: 10-31 (This is a long  one but I will hit the high points for blog form)
When one finds a worthy wife, her value is far beyond pearls.
Her husband entrusting his heart to her, has an unfailing prize
She brings him good, and not evil, all the days of her life ....

Charm is deceptive and beauty fleeting; the woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

31:10-31 is from a  passage called, "The Ideal Wife"
The true charm of the ideal wife is her  religious spirit, for she fears the Lord.
 Marriage takes three. Husband, Wife and God and one day I aspire to be 'The Ideal Wife' in this purest form.    It sure beats looking up to the Kardashians or other people in Hollywood.
